About the Project:
Nowadays, the world confronts a host of natural phenomena that demands attention. The effects of global warming, natural disasters and climate change are of high concerns both for the environment and human life. The expected long range effects of recent climate change may already be observed. Rising sea levels, increasing the intensity of extreme weather events, changing the amount and pattern of precipitation glacier retreat, altered patterns of agriculture are cited as direct consequences of human activities. Together, these issues pose a formidable challenge to our hopes of building a prosperous world community. We had better make efforts for contributive steps to prevent them. With the help of "3 R's " Project, the positive steps to create awareness will be taken not only local but also global. 3 R's ", Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" will be our leading motto in order to prevent the degradation of the earth and to cope with deforestation and pollution that threaten survival. We as teachers and learners think that healing the planet starts in schools. Change only happens when individuals take actions. We are going to prepare certain activities to create awareness about protecting the nature, increasing the use of eco-friendly products like reusable bottles, bags, glasses, plastic containers, recycle bins etc, saving energy, paying attention to public transportation, water consumption and reducing paper use. They are as follows: Preparing environmental diseases, climate change, water consumption, using public transportation, nature friendly calendar, and 3 R's and green your future posters, planting flowers and trees, cleaning the environment, getting recycle bins, creating a global awareness with foreign friends, canvassing around the city and shouting eco-friendly slogans, shooting videos and sharing on social media accounts, preparing word games and dictionary with pictures of saving the planet unit . They are going to share a presentation of what they have done and discuss the attitudes from people. Also, we are going to prepare a night which some of the students and teachers play musical instruments for the sake of nature.
Aims:
To create awareness about climate change, global warming, protecting the nature and human life both in local and in global7
- To accelerate the process of using recyclable products, recycle bins and 3 R's, globally
- To touch the soil and to get rid of stress
- To make pupils involve in interactive activities
- To give learners and teachers an opportunity to take place on the same Project with foreigners
- To develop positive attitude towards protecting the nature
- To give students chance to express themselves in target language with all four skills and acquire the words and phrases about saving the planet
- To create a learner centred atmosphere and active learning habits
- To improve their creativity, problem solving and research skills
- To encourage students to think in terms of positive interdepence and in cooperative learning
- To develop students' multiple intelligences, technological skills and Web 2.0 tools

Expexted Result
At the end of the Project,
Students will be able to;
- understand that it is quite evident that these problems will have been overcome in the near future only if people follow these steps and save the earth
get in the habit of protecting the nature
- play an active role in target language and improve their language skills and subskills like vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar structures
learn to work in collaboratively
